Campus Recreation provides multifaceted recreational programs and opportunities to meet the unique needs of the University of Arizona community. Facilities (Bear Down Gym, Student Recreation Center, and Robson Tennis Center) include a swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor track, racquetball and squash courts, weight rooms, exercise rooms, tennis courts, and sand volleyball. Summer programming includes Intramural sports, Non-Credit Activity Classes, Outdoors Adventures trips, and Fitness classes. The summer semester start dates are dictated by the University of Arizona schedule. For membership purposes the summer semester begins the Monday after May commencement and ends on the day before classes begin for the fall semester. The summer semester has two terms - term 2 and term 3 as set by the University. All students taking three units or more during summer session one - term 2 (includes presession), or summer session two - term 3 are considered automatic and a mandatory Recreation Center Bond Retirement Fee of $12.50 per term is automatically posted to their bursar's account. Summer students enrolled in two units or less are not automatic. The Recreation Center Bond Retirement Fee is not charged to their bursar's account. These students have the option to purchase a membership at Campus Recreation for a fee of $20 per term or $40 for the entire summer. Located at 1224 E. Lowell St. next to Parking & Transportation. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (open for emergencies only from noon-1:00 p.m.). The Campus Health Center opens at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. Closed weekends and university holidays. Services include MMR and travel vaccinations, acute care, general medicine, Women's Health, Counseling & Psychological Services, pharmacy, laboratory, physical therapy, as well as specialty clinics in orthopedics, and sports medicine. There is a co-payment charged prior to seeing a primary provider and other charges for prescriptions, lab tests, physical therapy, immunizations, acupuncture, specialty clinics and certain supplies. All students born after December 31, 1956, must provide documentation of adequate measles and rubella immunity before registering for classes at the University of Arizona. Documentation must show proof of one vaccination for rubella given after December 31, 1979, and two (2) measles vaccinations, at least one of which must have been administered after December 31, 1979. These vaccines are available at the Campus Health Center for a charge. For information on the requirement or on receiving these vaccinations, please call the Campus Health Center at (520) 621-2384.
